Personally I thought the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony was pretty cool, although I never realised Victorians were such crazy pyromaniacs. That said, dudes on skates with flamethrower backpacks made even Delta Goodrem bearable.

Also, the ceremony had the best performance of the Aussie national anthem I have ever seen. Watching a giant circle of colourful costumes perform the anthem in sign language was so very very cool, and not just because it was an awesome way to be inclusive of people with disabilites.

However, Channel Nine’s cheap excuse for a telecast was a joke. Ads? During the athletes’ march? For crying out loud.
