The Pencil Guy: Hourann's illogical blog

Another short photo expedition

I always feel horribly deceitful when I visit other universities to steal resources, like I’m rudely intruding on someone else’s turf. Oh wait, that’s exactly what I’m doing. Anyway, yesterday’s destination was the library at ECU Joondalup.

Wandering through the CBD on the way there, I got caught up in lunch hour, and was mildly surprised by the number of Ernst & Young employees watching the construction work at Esplanade station.

I also saw window cleaners! And which crazy hack at the City of Perth thought it’d be a good idea to have the Christmas decorations up at the start of October?

  1. Heh. I took a Sydney friend to have a look at WAAPA on Wednesday.

I was wearing my final year shirt. That has the UWA logo on it and underneath says “mechanical engineering graduate 2006.”

Why yes, of course I belong here, why do you ask? *g*

Also, those people lookigng at the construction site? This is what they saw there (if they were there on that date at about 11:30 am, that is *g*).

  2. Have you been into a shopping centre lately? All big W, Kmart and I think target all have their’s up.

  3. Admittedly, no. But I’m not too surprised that shops try to milk the Christmas spending rush by convincing people that it’s started early. The City of Perth, on the other hand, are dealing with major heritage buildings and are supposed to know better. Or something.

I reckon the GPO and Commonwealth Bank buildings look kinda silly when decorated so early …
