News on the SmartRider front: the Public Transport Authority has realised that they can’t afford to keep paying all the fares of all 7000 of us.

Dear Control Group Member,

We wish to advise that from this Sunday, April 16, Transperth’s current offer of full fare reimbursement will be reduced to 20% reimbursement for the rest of the Control Group trial. [...]

Our decision to reduce the level of fare reimbursement reflects the higher levels of reliability now being achieved across the system.

The 20% reimbursement will be refunded in total at the conclusion of the Control Group period currently scheduled for May 14.
